FramePilot

Privacy Policy

Last updated: Effective:

This policy explains what the FramePilot Android app and this website do with information. It is written from the app's actual behavior: the app has no account system, no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and does not request Android's internet permission.

1. The short version

  • FramePilot reads device information (battery, thermal status, memory, display) and a list of launchable apps on your phone so it can work.
  • It stores your settings, your game-library choices and the gaming sessions you record on your device only.
  • The app contains no code that sends data over a network and does not request the Android internet permission. It has no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
  • There is no account to create and nothing to delete on a server, because the app has no server.
  • You control the optional permissions and can delete session history inside the app, or remove everything by clearing storage or uninstalling.
This summary is for convenience. The sections below are the full policy.

2. Scope

This policy covers the FramePilot app for Android (application ID com.framepilot.app) and this website. It does not cover Google Play, Android, your device manufacturer or any other app you use, which have their own policies.

3. Who is responsible

FramePilot is published by RoxLab (“we”, “us”). Because the app does not transmit personal information to us, we generally do not hold personal information about people who use it. For the website, and for any message you send us, we are the party responsible for that information.

4. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, contact us via hello@roxlabhq.com.

5. Information the app accesses and stores

“Accesses” means the app reads the value on your device. “Stores” means it saves it in the app's private storage on your device. This table is derived from the app's source code and manifest.

DataWhy it is accessedStored on your device?Sent off your device by the app?Retention and deletion
Battery level, charging state, battery temperature, voltage, health (from Android's battery broadcast)Shown on Home, Device and the HUD; sampled during a session you recordLive values: no. Level and temperature samples are saved only inside a session you recordNoSession samples are kept until you delete that session or all sessions, clear the app's storage, or uninstall
Android thermal status (Android 10 and later)Shown on Home, Device and the HUD; sampled during a sessionOnly as samples inside a recorded sessionNoAs above
System memory: total, available, low-memory flagShown on Home, Device and the HUD; available memory sampled during a sessionOnly available memory, as samples inside a recorded sessionNoAs above
Screen refresh rate and supported display modesShown on Device, the HUD and GuidesNoNoNot retained
Launchable apps: app name, package name, whether Android categorizes it as a gameBuild your game library and let you pick an app to add manuallyThe full list is read on demand and is not stored. Only entries you favorite, launch through FramePilot or add manually are stored (package name, app name, flags, last-launched time, launch count)NoRemove a manual entry or un-favorite inside the app. Launch history has no separate in-app clear button: clear the app's storage or uninstall to remove it
Gaming sessions: start and end time, duration, optional selected game, status (completed or interrupted), samplesSession history and reportsYes, in the app's private databaseNoDelete one session or all sessions in the app; or clear storage; or uninstall
Settings: theme, language, sampling interval, HUD appearance, position and chosen metrics, library view and sort, onboarding completedRemember your choicesYes, in the app's private preferences. The language choice is stored by Android's per-app language featureNoClear storage or uninstall
Screen content and activity of other appsNot accessed. The HUD only draws its own panel; FramePilot does not read what is shown beneath itNoNoNot applicable
Purchase informationThe app contains no billing code and does not see your purchase. Purchases are handled by Google PlayNoNot by the app. Google processes your payment (see section 13)Governed by Google's policies

FramePilot does not access your location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, photos or files, phone or SMS data, advertising ID or account identifiers.

6. Permissions and why they exist

A permission is an ability Android grants an app; it is not the same as collecting data. FramePilot asks only for these:

  • Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): lets the floating HUD appear above your game. You grant it in Android settings after an explanation inside the app, and you can revoke it at any time. It is used only for the HUD.
  • Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): keeps the HUD and an active session running while you play. It starts only when you tap Show HUD or Start session, shows a notification with a Stop button, and never starts on its own or when the device boots.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13 and later): lets Android show the notice for that service. If you decline, the service can still run, but the notice may not be visible.
  • Seeing launchable apps (a package-visibility query for apps with a launcher icon): used to build your game library. FramePilot does not request the broad “query all packages” permission.

FramePilot does not request: internet access, location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage or media access, phone or SMS, an accessibility service, usage access or a notification listener.

7. Local storage and retention

Data is saved in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot normally read. We do not set an automatic expiry: data stays until you delete it. Android backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for FramePilot, so your data is not copied to Google's cloud backup or to a new phone and will not come with you if you switch devices.

8. Network communication and external services

The app does not request the Android internet permission and contains no code that opens network connections. This conclusion is based on reviewing the app's source code, dependency list and manifest. The app can open Android's own settings screens and launch other apps on your device at your request; those apps and screens are not controlled by FramePilot.

9. Third-party SDKs

FramePilot is built with open-source Android and Kotlin libraries (Jetpack Core, AppCompat, Lifecycle, Activity, Navigation, Room, DataStore, Compose, Material 3, and kotlinx.coroutines) that run inside the app. It includes no advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting, social or payment SDK, and no Google Play services or Firebase libraries.

10. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or share personal information, because the app does not send any to us. We do not hold app data that we could disclose. If you email us, we use your message only to reply and handle your request, and we do not give it to advertisers.

11. Advertising and analytics

The app shows no ads and has no analytics. The website sets no cookies, includes no analytics or tracking scripts and loads no third-party resources (fonts and images are served from the site itself), so there is no cookie banner.

12. Diagnostics provided by Google Play

FramePilot does not collect crash reports itself. If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with Google on your device, Google may give developers aggregated technical reports (for example, crash or “app not responding” rates) through the Play Console. That collection is performed by Google under Google's policies, not by the app.

13. Purchases and payment processing

FramePilot is distributed through Google Play. Any purchase, payment and refund is handled by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. The app itself has no billing code and does not receive or transmit payment information. As a publisher on Google Play, we can see sales and transaction reports that Google makes available in the Play Console, which may include limited details such as order identifiers, purchase dates and country.

14. Your choices and deleting data

  • Delete one session from its detail screen, or all sessions from Sessions or Settings → Delete all session history. Both ask for confirmation.
  • Remove a manually added game from its detail screen, and un-favorite games at any time.
  • Switch off the HUD from the HUD tab or the notification. Revoke “Display over other apps” and notifications in Android settings.
  • To remove everything the app stores, use Android Settings → Apps → FramePilot → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. There is no account, so there is no separate account to delete.

15. Security

Because the app has no network access, your data is protected mainly by Android's app sandbox and your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, updates). The HUD service is not exported to other apps. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Children

FramePilot is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. The app does not ask for or transmit personal information from anyone, including children. The age rating shown on the Google Play listing applies. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

17. International transfers

The app does not transfer data internationally. For the website, files are delivered by a hosting provider that may process server logs (such as IP address and request time) in the regions where it operates; we do not use these logs for tracking. Emails you send us are processed by our email provider.

18. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, US state privacy laws, and Vietnam's personal data protection rules may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Because the app does not send data to us, most of your information is already under your control on your device. If you contact us about information we do hold (for example, an email you sent), we will respond as applicable law requires. We cannot retrieve data from your device remotely.

19. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change (for example, a future version adds a network feature or an SDK), we will update this policy before the change ships and show the new date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app's Google Play release notes.

20. Effective and last updated dates

The effective date and the last updated date are shown at the top of this page.
