Support
Most questions come down to Android permissions or what your device reports. Start with the quick answers below; if you are still stuck, contact us with the details listed at the end.

The HUD does not appear or disappears
- Open FramePilot → HUD. If you see “Allow the floating HUD”, tap Open Android settings, enable Display over other apps for FramePilot, then return to the app. FramePilot re-checks the permission when you come back.
- Tap Show HUD. On Android 13 and later you may be asked to allow notifications; the HUD can still run if you decline.
- If it vanishes after a while, your device's battery saver or manufacturer “app optimization” may be stopping the background service. In Android settings, find FramePilot and allow it to run unrestricted in the background, or exclude it from battery optimization.
- Some apps, system screens and secure windows block overlays by design. If the HUD shows over most apps but not one particular game, that app is probably blocking it; FramePilot cannot override this.
- If you revoke the permission while the HUD is showing, FramePilot removes the HUD cleanly. Grant the permission again to use it.
- The × button on the HUD closes it. The notification's Stop button also stops monitoring and ends any active session.
A reading shows “n/a” or “—”
FramePilot only shows what Android reports and never estimates a missing value. Common reasons:
- Thermal status needs Android 10 or later. Android thermal status is a system-level indicator, not CPU or GPU temperature.
- Battery temperature is not reported by every device. Open the Device tab to see which values your phone provides, with an explanation for each.
- Free memory is system-wide, not the memory used by one game.
- Screen refresh rate is how often the display updates; it is not FPS, and FramePilot does not change it.
- FramePilot does not show FPS, CPU or GPU temperature, or ping, because Android provides no supported way to measure them for another app.
A game is missing from my library
FramePilot lists apps that declare Android's game category. If yours does not, tap + on the Games tab and add it manually. If Android shows FramePilot very few apps (for example, in some work profiles), the Games tab says so and you can add games manually.
Sessions
Sessions are manual: FramePilot does not detect when a game starts or stops. If Android stops FramePilot while a session is recording, or the phone restarts, the session is saved as Interrupted and shows only the time that was actually recorded. Gaps in recorded data are shown in the report and are never filled in.
Permissions FAQ
- Why “Display over other apps”? Android requires it for anything drawn above another app. FramePilot uses it only for the HUD.
- Why a notification? Android requires a visible notification while the HUD or a session keeps running. It has a Stop button.
- Does FramePilot read what is on my screen or what other apps do? No. The HUD draws only its own panel.
- Does it need internet? No. The app does not request internet permission.

Report a technical issue
Email us (see Contact support above) and include:
- Your phone model and Android version (Settings → About phone).
- The FramePilot version (open FramePilot → Settings → About FramePilot).
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened. Screenshots help; please remove anything personal first.
- Whether the “Display over other apps” permission is on and whether battery optimization is restricting the app.
More
Read the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. The FramePilot app also has a Guides screen with shortcuts to Android's display, battery and network settings.
